Foster Update! 11/8:
Cocoa Pixie is Miss August in ALR's 2011 calendar, where is she is featured dock diving in a competition with the Dixie Dock Dogs! We always knew our bathing beauty was a pretty girl, but now she's a calendar model!
CP continues to thrive in her foster home, and now that the weather has cooled down, she enjoys sunbathing in the back yard. We've mentioned before that CP is great with other dogs, but I've never mentioned that she absolutely LOVES little dogs. Especially little white dogs! If she sees a little white dog enter the dog park, she will excuse herself from her current playmate and make a B-Line for the little white dog!! She is so cute when she plays with small dogs, and is very gentle. Of course, CP can be rough and tumble, and she loves to play with big dogs, too. While CP makes a great playmate for playful dogs, she would also be a good companion for an older dog. Her foster home is also home to a Whippet who is not fond of playing, and CP respects the Whippet's space and does not bother her. She has earned the Whippet's trust and they enjoy just hanging together. CP is quickly approaching her 2nd Birthday, and we would love for her to be able to celebrate her Birthday with her new forever family!
If youre looking for a glowing Lab personality in a smaller package, look no further than Cocoa Pixie! Cocoa is a one-year old, 50 pound black lab mix with pretty brindle highlights, and she is a complete joy to have around! Cocoa is extremely well-behaved for such a young dog she is perfectly house trained, crate trained, knows basic obedience, obeys commands and is friendly to dogs and humans alike! Cocoa can even be left out in the house for a full work day and she is not destructive at all (we think youll agree that this is a huge accomplishment for a 1 year old Lab)!
Despite her impeccable manners, Cocoa has the fun zest for life of a puppy and is very playful! Because of her youthful energy, she does need either an active family or another active dog to run and play with. She is a total water dog, and loves to swim and ride on the boat. CP is very intelligent, affectionate and in tune to her people. Her smarts and high desire to please keeps her energy in check and would make her a great dog for a home wanting to get involved in performance events, or a family who wants a smart dog who could learn fun tricks!
Through no fault of her own, Cocoa was adopted and returned by her family because of allergies. CP dreams of a family who will include her in their activities and maybe take her to the lake or beach on occasion. As you can see from her pictures, Cocoa is a water dog and maybe a future dock diving star! Cocoa would even be perfect for a family on the go because she easily adapts to new situations as long as she is with her family. Cocoa went on a road trip with her foster family and was the perfect hotel guest and traveling companion!
