Bay - such a great name! And perfectly fitting for this 9 ~12 mos old labby boy who is quickly becoming a favorite with our vet. She describes him as a SUPER fellow - very mellow~ A sweetheart - very laid back who gets along with everyone famously! Everyone would include other dogs and of course, people - he's a fan! And cats? Lets just say thus far he is having far too much fun romping in the open air play area and making new friends that he's proved perfectly oblivious to them. A far cry and a world away from the confines of the shelter, this boy is thriving. And within the environs of the clinic, the consummate testing ground on so many levels, Bay has passed with flying colors!
Like all young labs (and my seniors too!) Bay would likely benefit from continued basic training, to brush up on his leash skills and to reinforce recall (due in part because he is still adapting to his name change). He's got a good head start and does not carry on or behave like a little rascal (although sometimes we wish he would!). He is responsive and obedient which are benchmark traits of a dog willing and eager to please.
