Duke is his real name, he was reclaimed from the shelter once and returned because his owners just could not keep him at home - had they thought to neuter him and keep him inside, he likely would not have wandered. Guess they could not be bothered and thought he'd fare better at the shelter as someone else's responsibility. Thankfully, the ACO gives a dam*.
He took both Spunky and Duke out together for a walk around the pond behind their building just prior to our Vol picking them up - they were so happy to be on a walk and did well together. Amazing what a little love, compassion and caring will do. Amazing what a man who has known them less than a week can inspire in them with a simple act of kindness.
