Meet Baxter2 and his brother Hawley. For those of you who arent familiar with the movie Silverado those are two characters from the movie. Unfortunately, theirs is a sad story unlike the crazy western. They were picked up by animal control after the owner was taken to the emergency room and died. There they were, stuck in a shelter. Victims of circumstance.
They quickly smiled and bumbled their way into everyones heart and the volunteers there began a huge campaign to find them another home. They vetted them, neutered them and emailed far and wide. A rescue in CT said they wanted them, but would need help locally until they could get them. We had them out the next day and the future looked bright. Then they changed their mind and said they had no room for them.
They are lab/shepherd mixes. Both are pretty big boys with beautiful white coats. They are absolutely perfect in the house, quiet, housetrained and ridiculously easy. Although they dont play together, the two are very bonded and seem to enjoy each others company and would be best as the only dogs in the house. They are like big cuddly teddy bears with people and have never met a stranger, but will bark if they hear intruders. They smile and love attention, but settle nicely and dont jump up. Ive fostered over 1,000 dogs and have to admit they are favorites.
