Foster Update!
Joy has had a few accidents in the house, as well as chewed up a leash. The accidents have happened in between the time that I come home at lunch to let her and Harper out and before I get home for the day. Joy also has a surprising ability to counter surf for such a little girl ;)
On the bright side, she is getting comfortable in her new environment and warming up to me. She is an adorable little girl who has the funniest habits. She likes to wave one paw at me when she is excited, and she has found every single toy in the house and placed them in a single pile in my living room. She may be a hoarder!
She loves to cuddle, and is one of the smartest dogs that I have been around. In less than 3 minutes, she had figured out where I kept the dog food on my screened porch and how to get the lid off of the container. If she sticks around for a few more days, I'm going to start working with her on some basic obedience skills. I have no doubt that she will pick them up in a hurry.
She is very much still a puppy, at least at heart, and would be a great companion for someone who can provide her with a lot of attention and some basic training. We rescued this sweetie and her litter of 3. Joy is between 3-4 years old and she's been one fabulous Mom to her pups! This will be Joy's last litter - her pups are weaned and as soon as our Vet gives the go ahead, Joy will be spayed. Joy has pampered her pups and is ready to receive a little pampering in her own right! She promises lots of love in return! |
