Kayla has an identity crisis....but Shhh, mums the word, she thinks she's a lab! Clearly, she's not, but surrounded by a sea of labs, well.... naturally she figures herself for one - a diminutive Diva who fancies herself the ruler of the lab roost. She's got personality plus for sure, and has held her own among a suite of suitors ~ all looking to be her best friend. Guess who won out? Goldwin! This diminutive Chi x, who weighs less than 15 lbs is BFF to none other than a lab who outweighs her 5 to 1. Telling. And not only does Kayla put him through his paces, she keeps up! She set the tone of their friendship from day 1 and good natured Goldwin (we cannot extol the virtues of this gentle giant enough) is equally amenable to sharing his tennis ball with her as he is the couch. Spooned together, they make for quite a pair - its truly a hoot!
Now admittedly, we don't have much small dog experience and ordinarily she'd have been swept up by a rescuer of same. Thing is, we didn't quite realize she was a small breed x, with an adorable 'button' tail (docked) to boot!.... So were we duped? Not at all - we just thought we were getting a 3 month old puppy, when in fact our Vets confirm she is closer to a year! All grown up, she is a mere 15 lbs and will remain a petite pixie. She has no idea and like Lexie before her, we just adore this sweet girl. She pops into our offices daily and sits at our feet, big brown eyes gazing straight up, a tiny little thing, we turn to mush and feebly try and resist her every whim. And while we've yet to adequately capture this darling girl on film, there's nothing she'd like better than to be the subject of a full feature pictorial. Her shoot is up next, so check back for her debut.
