The Labrador Retriever, “Lab” for short, is the most popular breed in the United States today and with good reason. Labs exhibit some of the most highly regarded and favorable traits among all breeds. Characteristically, labs are good natured, intelligent, loyal and energetic; these inherent traits make them equally suitable as wonderful companions or excellent working dogs. Labs thrive on human attention and have an unwavering desire to please making them hands down among the most responsive and easiest to train. Their friendly disposition ensures their desirability as a family pet and secures their top dog status here and abroad.

Atlanta Lab Rescue is an all volunteer, nonprofit organization whose volunteers/members have years of experienced rescue behind them. Our mission is to identify and rescue Labs from overwhelmed shelters and abusive situations and place them in secure, loving homes. Prior to an ALR dog being adopted, each dog undergoes an extensive examination by our veterinarian, is updated on all vaccinations, spayed or neutered and microchipped. Thanks to our partnership with Antech Laboratories, Atlanta Lab Rescue is able to offer extensive health screenings on every dog in our program which ensures the new owner one of the most comprehensive evaluations available. In addition, each adoption includes a certificate for a free training class with U.S. Canine, the Atlanta Dog Whisperer. We firmly believe that a healthy, well trained dog is the key to the successful integration of a rescued dog and ensures a wonderful, loving companion for years to come.
