Caleb is a senior dog with the heart of a youngster. Regardless of some stiffness and arthritis he does quite well. While he might not jump through hoops any longer, he is always eager to get up and follow you around the house or yard with a steadfast loyalty and curiosity.
Caleb is a sweetheart with two very distinct approaches to life. With the two of us (plus 2 cats who he ignores) he will follow us and lay at our feet or come up and nudge you for a scratch behind the ears. He is so quiet you barely know he is in the room. He is completely house trained and will be patient enough to wait if you're out for the day. He loves a short walk (excellent on a leash) and to chase tennis balls. He is smart as a whip and very eager to show off his tricks. You just have to be mindful that he is a senior, so playtime should be limited. With children around he changes from a very sweet quiet dog to a sweet animated puppy-like attitude. He really seems to perk up with a group of children or adults around being animated and having fun.
So, Caleb would be a perfect fit for a quiet couple or a house full of children . He won't win a marathon or a sprint but his heart is made of gold and he will bring joy to whoever decides to seek his company.
