| Chief is a humble, sweet boy. He gets along swimmingly with everyone. : ) Definitely house broken, and seems to know basic obedience. He will make someone very happy - he has so much more to give. Oh, he does talk.... a lot! Talk, not bark - He's a subtle charmer : ) I am diligently trying to fatten him up and he's almost to the point where I can no longer feel every vertebrae in his tail. He is still just a shadow of his former self - a gallant, handsome, hearty boy I know he once was. Dumping this older lab is unforgivable, but he is thriving nonetheless and seems oblivious to all his misfortune. He still seems to have plenty of energy, but it doesn't last as long as I am sure it used to. Although likely retired from retrieving, he loves the ball so and brings one to me every chance he can. Definitely not destructive in any way. He truly is a wonderful dog - comfortable and companionable. While he gets along with everyone I have a feeling he may have been an only dog. He doesn't really seem to be or feel the need to bond with any of mine, but that's just my guess. Chief may have a few 'gray' hairs but his age has not hampered his love of life or enthusiasm in the least.
