From his foster....

Update on Elvis (aka Lil Dawg)...

He is just the greatest and sweetest dog we have ever fostered. He came right out of his surgery (neuter) and wanted love and kisses, but you would not even know he had surgery. He is really a great dog. He has settled down a little since his neuter and made great progress learning ‘No’ over the weekend. He even knows how to ‘Sit’, ‘Shake’, and ‘Down’ and is very excited to learn more tricks. He loves to fetch and run around outside and is great off leash. He walks really well on his leash too and has fit right in with our little pack on walks. I think he would do well with cats. There were kittens at the vet and I showed him and he totally ignored them. We also came across a cat on a walk and while my dogs were going crazy to try to get it, he did not really pay attention. He is the epitome of a bird dog. Loves to retrieve. He is very confident and is great inside. He has not had a single accident in the house and learned to use the doggie door in about 5 minutes. We have left him inside alone for 4-5 hours and he has not chewed or gotten into any trouble. What a great dog!!! He is also the cutest darn thing. He has more of a block-head and super thick soft fur. I can’t imagine that anyone would meet him and not love him.

And let me know if you want more pics I have plenty :)

Lil Dawg is really going to be a great dog, he slept in the bathroom on a doggie bed and did really well. He did not get into any trouble and only whined a few times. He is super sweet with me and listens well. He walked right into the crate this morning and I am sure he will enjoy a relaxing day. I have renamed him Elvis since he did not know his shelter name anyhow. He also loves to fetch and acts younger than 3. He is just still super goofy outside. He tripped over himself a few times which was so adorable.

I attached some pictures. It is so hard to get good pics of the black labs. He is really, really adorable. :)

Lil Dawg is a gorgeous black lab. He was owner surrenderer to the shelter by his family and thus we know he was born on January 27, 2006 making him about 3 1/2 years old. He has an age appropriate level of activity ~ he seems content and happy being indoors and laying around ~ but loves to be outside, explore and take leisurely strolls along the fence perimeter. Back scratches in the grass with feet bicycling in the air seems a treasured past time and frequent jaunts in the car are revered. He has a fabulous disposition, as you can see he is easy to please! he finds everything equally appealing! Lil Dawg is being vetted at the moment, but we will round out his profile as the updates roll in from his foster. So check back soon!

Thanks!
