8.24 Update!

Luigi is only 12lbs, he's the picture of health, but he is destined to be a wee little guy when full grown. Who knew? We tend to doubt he has any lab in him whatsoever - but shh, don't tell! - Lu can keep up and carry on with the best of them..a 70lb lab is a breeze :) What he lacks in stature he makes up with sheer presence alone. He's a happy go lucky, bubbly, affectionate little guy who, while very much still a lil pupper - loves to take the lead - literally. Lu is fascinated by walks and will promptly pick up his leash and lead you right out the door!

In the two short days with his foster, Lu is proving himself to be quite the perfect pupper. He's settled in nicely with their resident beagle, Penny, and has taken his cues from her. He is respectful towards her, sweet, not overbearing and has high hopes to be her friend. He's learned to navigate the layout of the home, figured out the doggie door with ease, is well on his way to being housetrained. He's a smart little cookie, who realizes when he's plum tuckered out and promptly puts himself to bed :) He's an entertainer too - he loves to retrieve and is always up for a good game of fetch. He does not get bogged down along the way or lose interest, he ensures the ball is returned each time. He delights in his toys and will amuse himself, when he is done he gathers them up lovingly one by one and returns them to their rightful place. His bed! He falls asleep surrounded by his toy treasures.

Luigi is crate trained at night - otherwise, he has run of a large room when his foster is working and run of the house when she is not. Maybe one of his sweetest traits is he sees his foster off to work every morning with Penny. Using the doggie door, they stand at the fence and bid her goodbye, tails wagging, then return two by two back to the house. An amazing little chap, our Luigi.. suffice it to say, we all love him to pieces. (Penny too!)

Luigi is a 9 week old labby/corgi baby - he came in when we were pulling Fife and was in the shot room when an ACO handed him to our Vol, so he didn't make it into the kennels - just into her arms :)
