October 16 07 UPDATE !!!!! and then there was one...
Teddy is a 10 week old lab golden puppy. He is the last little guy in his litter, irresistibly cute. His world decidedly narrowed with the departure of his littermates and we fretted over whether he would be lonely. He's a valiant soul though and surprised us all - he made a wonderful new discovery - the world of people sans his sibs! Ever since, he's developed a strong attachment, developed the proper socialization - indifferent as to how he's loved and held, bonding to one & all. He's a consistent cuddler and snoozes with his head lolled to one side...is attentive and alert & slightly more pensive than his siblings. Naturally, Teddy LOVES to play - he has short bursts of freewheeling energy and then flops down perfectly contented - typical puppy, two speeds only. Now, he's immersing himself in the love and care of his foster family, to the point where they are reluctant to take leave of him, he's just so snuggly. Thankfully, they have three dogs of their own to whom Teddy has taken to and two of the three are fast friends with him. In typical Teddy fashion he is intent on working to befriend their basset too! In the meantime, not only has he conquered the heart of this family, but he's captured that of their neighbors who shower him daily with affection, treats and toys! So...a plucky, perky puppy interwoven with an introspective, friendly chap who just happens to deliver a very handsome silhouette? We're biased of course, but this precious pup is very close to having the perfect disposition, an absolute affection for people coupled with an exuberance for life.
10.05.07 UPDATE !!!!! Pookie's pups are now 8 weeks old and finally ready to spread their paws, so to speak. Pook's been the most wonderful Mom and we feel like proud parents ourselves since we've had them since birth. But, alas they are ready to set out on their own adventures! They're cuddlers - 4 little bubbly bursts of yellow, 2 males & 2 females - lovable & adorable!
