Christmas Update From Her Foster :)
I am fostering one of the new dogs, originally called Tootsie, I have renamed her Lina. I have taken several pictures of this beautiful girl for the website. Miss Lina is a sweet and very timid girl. When I picked her up this past Saturday she had a case of Kennel Cough, which is almost completely gone. I have been giving her medicine that was given to me, but it has given her a very upset tummy. She has only nibbled a little food, so I went and bought some canned puppy food for her tummy- with high calories and we have finally gotten her to eat. This sweet thing has been neglected and is currently very, very shy. She is quite skinny as you can see from the pictures and my hope is that we can fatten her up a bit so she has the energy to run and play.
She is house trained, but that is where her training has stopped. She did not recognize her name, did not know how to go up and down stairs and I doubt if she ever was let in a house prior to this. She did not even know what to do with a dog treat, so she buried it! I am trying to give her tips on sitting, coming when called and rolling over to get her tummy rubbed. She is a quick student, especially on the tummy rub! My Black Lab, Lenny, loves on her all the time. She is wonderful with kids, too. I think once this lovely girl comes out of her shell, she will be a great find! She needs a family that can take the time to love on her and show her that there is a whole new world out there.
